Temecula Patch Readers: Thank You For Helping Us Grow

We've come a long way, and you're a big reason why we are celebrating our 8th birthday! Take a look at our recent readership figures.

Wow, how time flies! Temecula Patch is celebrating its 8th birthday this December, and we’ve seen some tremendous growth here in the Temecula Valley — and you’re a big reason why.

So thank you, Temecula Patch readers, for taking time out of your busy days to spend a few moments with Patch. We appreciate your visits and contributions, and we want you to know we take nothing for granted here. Thank you for helping us to grow and thrive this year.

In August, Temecula Patch recorded 176,252 visitors. Our visitors hail from Temecula, for sure, but many residents throughout Riverside County, especially from neighboring Murrieta and Lake Elsinore land here, too. That figure — compiled and verified through Google Analytics — includes readers on desktop, laptop, tablet, mobile and our app, and our visitors often access Patch on several devices over the month.

Here is a sampling of some of the most-read stories Temecula Patch from the past year:

Got a news tip? I’m Renee Schiavone, your local editor. I was born and raised in Riverside County and I’m happy to call the region home with my husband and two daughters. Though I didn’t got to school in town, my little sister graduated from Chaparral High School, but I promise I won’t play favorites ;).

For many years, Temecula had been in a “news vacuum” of sorts. We’re not quite close enough to Los Angeles for daily television coverage and San Diego-area stations have their own fill of local news to keep them busy. But you and I both know we have plenty happening right here in Southwest RivCo to fill hours of news — good and unfortunately, sometimes bad — from just this area.

One of my favorite parts of covering news in Temecula is seeing how much neighbors care about each other, #TemeculaHasHeart. I’m also a fan of doing some “in the field” reporting at some of Temecula’s fabulous wineries. And if you live in this area and haven’t experienced going up in one of the local hot air balloons yet, add it to your Temecula bucket list — and keep an eye out for possible giveaways here on Patch. We gave away some awesome prize packs earlier this year to the famous Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival.

A lot of the news I cover in Temecula comes to me from friends and readers around town who spot something and send me an image or question about what may be going on. I may not always have the answers right away, but I will certainly always do my best to find out what I can for you. Send your tips, ideas and questions my way at temecula@patch.com.

Our readers also love Temecula Patch's calendar of events — more than 71,086 visits have been recorded to our calendar so far this year, 9,298 of them in August alone. Coming up soon on the calendar are a Crustacean Celebration at Pechanga, the Starlight Bazaar at Vail Headquarters and a Pumpkin Patch is opening in town.

Here's another fun fact about Patch: Did you know that Patch is among the 100 most trafficked websites in the United States? Patch ranks 91st on the most viewed websites in the country, according to Alexa. Banning-Beaumont Patch is part of a broad network, with more than 150 Patches in California and more than 1,200 across the United States. That's a lot of local news!

Many news websites are limiting access to free articles, but Patch articles and events by our journalists and our users are always free to view.

Again, we're thrilled you've made Temecula Patch a part of your life. Thank you so much for your support and readership.
