Temporary polling places established for hurricane damaged spots in Venice and North Port

The Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Office has established temporary polling places for Nov. 8, 2022 in south Sarasota County because of damage from Hurricane Ian.
The Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Office has established temporary polling places for Nov. 8, 2022 in south Sarasota County because of damage from Hurricane Ian.

Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Ron Turner has established temporary polling locations in south Sarasota County because of impacts from Hurricane Ian.

The changes are in effect for next week's Nov. 8, 2022 general election only.

• Precinct 301 Waterford Sports Club Temporarily moving to: Church of the Nazarene 1535 E Venice Ave., Venice.

• Precinct 317 North Port Community United Church of Christ Temporarily moving to: North Port Elections Office Biscayne Plaza 13640 Tamiami Trail, North Port.

• Precincts 329 and 339 St. Nathaniel’s Episcopal Church Temporarily moving to: North Port Elections Office Biscayne Plaza 13640 Tamiami Trail,  North Port.

Referendums on the ballot: Sarasota County residents to vote on one-percent sales tax and other referendums

Voters assigned to precincts 301, 317, 329 and 339 should go to the above temporary polling locations to vote on Election Day.

All other voters who vote on Election Day should go to their regular assigned polling locations.

There are no changes for precincts 543 and 545, at the Englewood Sports Complex, 1300 South River Road.

The precincts will be open for Election Day voting, even as the complex remains closed for recreational activities.

Voters should use Pine Street to access the complex.
