Temporary shelter opens in Pottawatomie County

POTTAWATOMIE COUNTY (KSNT) — Pottawatomie County officials have created a temporary shelter for anyone who is displaced after Tuesday’s tornadoes.

Many counties in northeast counties in Kansas, including Pottawatomie, were hit with severe storms and even tornadoes Tuesday afternoon. Pottawatomie County Communications Manager Becky Ryan shared in a release that the county is creating a temporary shelter for anyone who may be displaced after a tornado hit Westmoreland.

Starting at 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, the temporary shelter will be at Rock Creek High School, 9355 Flush Road.
