Sep. 10—Judges selected 10 area women to recognize with 2022 Extraordinary Women awards from The Keene Sentinel.

An event will be held Oct. 13 at Redfern Performing Arts Center on the campus of Keene State College to honor the recipients, who have demonstrated outstanding contributions to their communities.

Recognized this year will be:

—Kathleen Burke of Keene

—Erika Greenwald of Keene

—Roberta Heinonen of Richmond

—Amy Markus of Hancock

—Kim Mooney of Rindge

—Sally Rinehart of Keene

—Mandy Sliver of Peterborough

—Cindy Westover of Walpole

The awards, now in their 10th year, feature women who have a strong record of volunteerism, giving back to the region and leadership.

The Sentinel accepts nominations for these awards — there were 94 this year — but does not take part in the judging. A magazine will be published Oct. 14 with stories about each recipient. For information about the event on Oct. 13 at 6 p.m., and to purchase tickets, go to https://ticketelf.com/events.

Tickets are $30 in advance, $40 at the door.
