Ten things to do in central Arkansas this weekend (Feb. 16-18)

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – This weekend in the Natural State, there is a plethora of things to do including a circus, live music, a cat show, wrestling and much more.

Happening all weekend at the Arkansas State Fairgrounds is the Garden Bros Nuclear Circus. The circus features 5 rings under the world’s largest big top arena, there is plenty of action and excitement for the entire family, as well as popcorn, cotton candy and more.

Friday and Saturday night, Quapaw Quarter United Methodist Church presents “The Mountaintop”, a fictional story about Martin Luther King Jr.’s last night on earth before his assassination. Tickets are $20 and showings begin at 7:30 p.m. both nights.

Ashanti, Monica, Mya, Keri Hilson and Keke Wyatt bringing show to Simmons Bank Arena 

Happening Friday night at Simmons Bank Arena is Something Sexy for the City, a concert featuring Ashanti, Monica, Mya, Keri Hilson and Keke Wyatt. The star-studded show begins at 7:30 p.m. and tickets start at $65.

Also happening all weekend long is the Great Backyard Bird Count. The project, spearheaded by the Little Rock Zoo, is the first citizen-science project to collect data on wild birds and to display results in near real time.

Another event hosted by the Little Rock Zoo this weekend is their 2024 Mardi Gras Parade and Festivities. There will be king snakes, king cakes, decorated floats and much more from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday.

Gulf Shore Regional Cat Show returning to Little Rock

Another purrfect event for the family this weekend is the Little Rock Cat Show, happening Saturday and Sunday at the Arkansas State Fairgrounds. There will be free cat coloring books, over 35 breeds and a cat costume contest!

Saturday night, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkansas will be hosting their 2024 Chocolate Fantasy Ball at the Statehouse Convention Center. This year’s honoree is Shelia Vaught, and the gala chairs are Colleen and Lanny Nickell.

Also happening Saturday night, TAC Wrestling presents Vino’s Is War. Watch some of the hottest wrestlers in the Natural State tear it up in the backroom, there will even be a death match. The show starts at 7 p.m. and tickets are $23 at the door.

24 things to do in central Arkansas in 2024

Another event happening all weekend long is the 48th Annual Arkansas RV Show at the Statehouse Convention Center. RV travelers and enthusiasts are encouraged to come out for a weekend of education, demos and more. Tickets are $10 for adults and free for children 12-years-old and under.

On Sunday night, Sticky’z Rock N’ Roll Chicken Shack turns into CBGB’s with New York hardcore legends Cro-Mags, Snafu, Burned Up Bled Dry and LRM. The show is all ages and doors open at 6 p.m.
