Ten things to do in central Arkansas this weekend (Feb. 23-25)

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – This weekend there is no shortage of events in the Natural State including heavy metal, a mixed-genre show, Godspell, wrestling and much more.

Friday night, heavy metal warriors Steel Panther bring their On The Prowl World Tour to The Hall with guest opener Moon Fever. Doors open at 7 p.m. and tickets start at $35.

Also happening Friday night is Ghost Hunting 101, a paranormal investigation class at the Old State House Museum.  Led by Arkansas Ghost Catchers, this three hour class will be full of instruction, investigation and more from 7 until 10 p.m.

Happening all weekend long is Godspell at the Argenta Community Theater. Show times are at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday night and 2 p.m. on Sunday.

24 things to do in central Arkansas in 2024

On Friday and Saturday, the Jack Stephens Center will be host to the 2024 Arkansas State Wrestling Tournament. Featuring the best high school wrestlers from around the state, the action will be steady from 8 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Saturday.

Saturday morning, Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church will be hosting their Free Read Book Sale. Hardbacks are $2 and paperbacks are $0.50, and all proceeds will go providing supplies of new and gently used books to those incarcerated in the Arkansas Department of Corrections.

On Saturday night, Arkansas Sounds presents a Power 92 Tribute and Family Reunion. For over 35 years, KIPR 92.3 has been the People’s station in central Arkansas and this event at the Ron Robinson Theater will feature former and current on-air personalities.

Honoring Black History – Sharing Stories of Pioneers and Charting New Paths Forward

Happening at Vino’s Saturday night is Warrmageddon Presents Vol. 2, a mixed-genre collection of some of the best talent the Natural State has to offer. Featuring progressive metal band Lumina, country upstarts Buckshot Princess, the indie pop of Birds With Teeth and hip hop from Fresco Grey, there is something for everyone.

Also happening Saturday night, country superstar Priscilla Block brings her Hey Jack Tour to The Hall. Featuring opening act Ryan Larkins, doors open at 6:30 p.m. and tickets start at $20.

On Saturday and Sunday, The Arkansas Symphony Orchestra Presents: Kerson Leong Plays Beethoven at the Robinson Center. The concert which features Beethoven’s Violin Concerto and more starts at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Sunday afternoon, the Clinton Presidential Center will be hosting a special Black History Month Performance. The story tells of the life of former South African President, Nelson Mandela. There will be performances from the choral and theater students from Little Rock’s Parkview Arts & Science Magnet High School.
