Ten Things I Think From Dolphins vs. Bucs

TAMPA — Tyreek Hill was hyping the athletic gear that's for sale right now at his pop-up store near Bloomingdale's at the Aventura Mall.

If you hit up Soul Runner by Tyreek Hill you'll find some short shorts.

"What I call them is Hot Boy Cheetah summer shorts," Hill said.

And who among the Dolphins' media group has similar shorts?

Well, our Hal Habib, Hill noted.

"Hell if he pulled these up a little bit these would be some hoochies," Hill said.

Hill has brought tremendous energy to interviews and to the practice fields.

He is relentless. He is dominant. He is a heck of a lot of fun.

And I have no idea how defensive backs for the Jets, Bills and Patriots are going to cover him in six games his season.

Hill brings the type of competiveness Miami's offense has lacked since Jarvis Landry.

Here are ten things I think after watching Miami practice Wednesday and Thursday:

1. Tua's practices were successful. Yes, Tua Tagovailoa was consistent and efficient.

2. Miami's offensive line was decent. Terron Armstead specifically credited right guard Robert Hunt and right tackle Austin Jackson for their recent work.

3. Connor Williams snapping concern. If Connor Williams is a highly effective center but is a bit off target on three snaps a game is that tolerable?

4. Mike Gesicki touches down. Unless something changes, he's quite likely to revert to his rookie-type statistics.

5. Noah Igbinoghene struggles. Tremendous athlete but it just seems like Igbinoghene is still having a hard time sticking receivers and finding the ball. Keion Crossen and Trill Williams may move ahead of Noah.

6. Hill and Waddle uncoverable. If they stay healthy, they should be the most dangerous receiver tandem in the NFL. The next Duper-Clayton.

7. Potential for defensive dominance. With Jaelan Phillips and Jevon Holland ready for a Year 2 leap, look out.

8. Offensive line depth. Look for the Dolphins to add at least one veteran tackle and center and perhaps a guard before the season and/or after Week 1.

9. Receivers depth. It seems probable that Preston Williams and/or Lynn Bowden, perhaps both, will end up moved or cut. Erik Ezukanma, Braylon Sanders, Trent Sherfield and Mohamed Sanu have all had bright moments.

10. McDaniel is loose, but organized. We love that coach Mike McDaniel is relaxed, personable and free-spirited. But don't make the mistake of thinking he's not detail-oriented and organized. Based on his open practices, McDaniel is.
