Monster Hunter fans, a new title in the series will be coming your way for mobile devices and phones!

Announced on Tuesday (8 Nov), the unnamed Monster Hunter title is already in development, and will be a collaboration between Tencent's TiMi Studio Group and Capcom.

According to a press release, the game "will reproduce the hunting actions that define the Monster Hunter series", while offering players a new experience on mobile devices and phones.

TiMi, a subsidiary of Tencent, is no stranger to mobile games, having developed titles like Honor of Kings and its fellow counterpart Arena of Valor. The first game frequently ranks as one of the most popular mobile games in China, while the latter has a sizeable following in global markets.

TiMi has also partnered different brands on titles such as Call of Duty: Mobile and Pokemon UNITE.

The Monster Hunter series are hunting action games where players take on the role of a hunter hunting giant monsters (pretty self explanatory), usually with other players.

Originally available only on consoles and handhelds, the series, which launched in 2004, has since gone on to become available on PCs as well, bringing in a whole new section of gamers.

Worldwide sales exceeded 88 million units shipped as of 30 Sept, 2022, making it one of Capcom's most popular series to date.

The most recent title in the series, Monster Hunter Rise, was released last year on the Nintendo Switch, before making its way to Windows in January. Its expansion, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, released in June this year.

There have also been several Monster Hunter mobile titles, such as Monster Hunter Explore and Monster Hunter Riders, which were only released in Japan, as well as an iOS version of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite back in 2009.
