Kingston teen’s wish granted to go to Super Bowl LVIII

Their appearance at the big game is proving a lasting impact on their former programs. Former MTSU Head Coach Rick Stockstill coached all four former MTSU football players, three with the San Francisco 49ers and one with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Having former athletes make it to the NFL is an accomplishment in of itself, but when they go to the Super Bowl, it helps boost the school’s program to another level. Stockstill said his former players earned their spots in the NFL.

“The growth that they made, how hard they worked hard, how important it was for them,” Stockstill said. “Nothing was given to them. They earned everything they got.”

Stockstill explained how when it comes time for recruiting future players, having former players who have played in the NFL and made it to the Super Bowl matters. He wants to convince recruits that MTSU provides everything they need to be successful.
