Tennessee baseball is back for Tony Vitello's sixth season.

The No. 2 Vols open the season Friday against Arizona in the MLB Desert Invitational, with games held throughout the greater Phoenix area all weekend. UT faces Grand Canyon on Saturday and UC San Diego on Sunday.

Chase Dollander will start for the Vols against the Wildcats. Dollander went 10-0 with a 2.39 ERA last season after transferring from Georgia Southern. He struck out 108 in 79 innings and was named the SEC pitcher of the year.

Vols outfielder Griffin Merritt won't play Friday or Saturday due to a two-game suspension stemming from his final game at Cincinnati. UT pitching coach Frank Anderson is serving the final game of a three-game suspension Friday.

Tennessee plays Arizona at 8 p.m. ET, Friday.

All three games over the weekend will be streamed on MLB.com.

Friday's and Saturday's games will be televised on MLB Network.
