Tennessee basketball score vs. Alcorn State: Live updates for Vols at home

Tennessee basketball has two more home games before it hits the road again.

The No. 13 Vols (6-1) host Alcorn State (3-5) on Sunday (6 p.m. ET, SEC Network+). It is the first time this season UT has played back-to-back home games. It crushed McNeese State 76-40 on Wednesday.

Tennessee has won five straight games since its loss to Colorado on Nov. 13 at Bridgestone Arena. It rolled through the Battle 4 Atlantis, claiming the tournament title with a 64-50 win against Kansas.

Josiah-Jordan James has not played in the past four games while dealing with knee soreness.

Vols coach Rick Barnes stressed Wednesday that UT's games against McNeese State, Alcorn State and Eastern Kentucky are essential for UT's younger players. Assistant coach Rod Clark echoed those thoughts Friday.

"They get into games like this where they should be ready and it is still something new that they learn every time," Clark said. "These are the games that our older guys are supposed to come out and have great effort and play really well and give time for those to come on the floor and hopefully contribute to winning.”
