Tennessee basketball score vs. Duke: Live updates for Vols in NCAA Tournament

ORLANDO, Fla. − Tennessee basketball is a win away from the Sweet 16.

No. 4-seeded Tennessee (24-10) faces No. 5 Duke (27-8) on Saturday (2:40 p.m. ET, CBS) in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

UT topped Louisiana 58-55 on Thursday to advance to the second round. The Vols have reached the Sweet 16 eight times in program history, including once under Rick Barnes in 2019. They have lost twice in the second round in four prior NCAA Tournament appearances under Barnes.

Nkamhoua is up to 27 points. Ties his career-high mark against Texas.

4:16 left: Huge 3 by Nkamhoua, who is having the game of his career. He has 23 points, and Tennessee leads 59-48 at the final TV timeout.

Nkamhoua has the Vols' last 13 points and 19 total in the second half. What a performance. Better than Texas earlier this season.

Tennessee's defense has been excellent so far. Blue Devils have 11 turnovers and are 8-22 from the field.

Aidoo has 8 points, 4 rebounds and 2 blocks. He's been the Vols' impact player along with Vescovi, who has 8 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.

Pregame: Purdue upset shakes up East Region

Fairleigh Dickinson's upset of Purdue will have a major impact on the winner of Tennessee-Duke next week. Purdue, as a 1-seed, would have been in line to face either the Vols or the Blue Devils.

Instead, FDU ran circles around a slow Boilermakers team and upset the Big Ten champions on Friday in Columbus, Ohio.

Now, the winner of UT-Duke faces the FAU-FDU winner in New York City. The opportunity is there. Can Rick Barnes' team step up today?
