Tennessee football gets Arizona State transfer DL Omarr Norman-Lott
Tennessee football landed Arizona State transfer Omarr Norman-Lott, an athletic defensive tackle, in a key addition from the portal.
On Monday, Norman-Lott chose Tennessee over Michigan State, Colorado and LSU. He is expected to enroll this month and participate in spring practice.
Norman-Lott, a 6-foot-3, 290-pounder from North Highlands, California, has two seasons of eligibility remaining. He was a four-star recruit out of high school and played a steady role on Arizona State’s defensive line.

In 2022, Norman-Lott had 14 tackles, three tackles for loss and two sacks in nine games. His best season was as a redshirt freshman in 2021, when he posted 30 tackles and four tackles for loss in 11 games.
Norman-Lott is in interesting addition for the Vols.
Tennessee returns starting defensive tackles Omari Thomas and Da’Jon Terry to a unit that ranked No. 2 in the SEC in rushing defense. But with defensive end Byron Young headed to the NFL, the Vols need additional pass rushers.
Norman-Lott has potential as a pass rusher from the interior defensive line. According to Pro Football Focus, he has higher grades as pass rusher than a run stopper, posting 20 quarterback pressures in the past two seasons.
