Tennessee football suffered a recruiting consequence of offensive coordinator Alex Golesh's departure.

Wide receiver Mazeo Bennett, a 4-star prospect in the 2024 class, decommitted from the Vols, at least in part, because Golesh left to become the head coach at South Florida.

"With the recent changes in the coaching staff, me and my family have decided to step back and re-evaluate Tennessee and others," Bennett posted on Twitter. "Tennessee will still be one of my top schools."

Bennett, from Greenville, South Carolina, is ranked the No. 31 wide receiver and No. 214 overall player in the 2024 class by 247Sports Composite.

Tennessee has time to get Bennett back. South Carolina may be its best competition, but Bennett has scholarship offers from numerous SEC schools.

As for the Tennessee's 2023 class, it is ranked No. 10 with 24 commitments. The early signing period starts Dec. 21.
