Tennessee football offers George MacIntyre, grandson of former Vanderbilt coach

Tennessee football coach Josh Heupel saw enough in two high school varsity games to offer Brentwood Academy sophomore quarterback George MacIntyre.

MacIntyre was named the No. 2 quarterback in the country for the Class of 2025 by 247Sports earlier this week. He's stepped in to the starting role for the Eagles and played at an extremely high level in his first two starts.

The 6-foot-6, 180-pound, four-star quarterback is 39-of-56 passing for 447 yards through Brentwood Academy's first two games. He has four touchdown passes and has yet to throw an interception.

Brentwood Academy is coming off a 28-17 win over CPA where MacIntyre was 15-of-18 passing for 181 yards and a touchdown.

MacIntyre is named after his grandfather, former Vanderbilt football coach George MacIntyre. His uncle Mike MacIntyre is the Florida International football coach.

George also has offers from FIU, Michigan, Ole Miss, Pittsburgh, Toledo and Vanderbilt.

George has received college attention in both. He has football offers from Vanderbilt, Florida International, Michigan, Ole Miss, Pittsburgh and Toledo. FIU, where Mike is now the football coach, has offered him to play both football and basketball.

Arizona State has also offered him for basketball.
