Tennessee football trolls Alabama by playing 'Dixieland Delight' after Vols win

The Tennessee staff member who ran the public address system following the Vols' 52-49 win over Alabama deserves some kudos.

As the Neyland Stadium field filled with orange-clad fans, and ambitious fans tugged away at the goalposts that served as the setting for Chase McGrath's game-winning field goal, a song familiar to Alabama fans blared over the loudspeakers.

"Rollin' down a backwoods, Tennessee byway..."

"Dixieland Delight," a song by the band Alabama that serves as an Alabama football tradition late during home games, blared on the Neyland Stadium speakers. It played as UT coach Josh Heupel ended his post game interview with CBS' Jenny Dell.

During the "Dixieland Delight" tradition at Bryant-Denny Stadium, Alabama fans sing along, chanting about how they feel about LSU, Auburn and Tennessee with some expletives thrown in there.

Tennessee fans in Neyland Stadium reveled in the program's biggest win of the 21st century, watching the goalposts fall and hearing "Dixieland Delight" pour across the field through the speakers.

What a scene it was on a Tennessee Saturday night.
