Tennessee football vs. LSU: Our final score predictions are in.

Tennessee Vols football will take on the LSU Tigers in a conference battle on Saturday.

The Vols are coming off a rest week after defeating the Florida Gators at Neyland Stadium in Week 4. The Tigers, on the other hand, are looking to continue their win streak after taking down Auburn 21-17 last week. LSU has only one loss this season against the Florida State Seminoles during Week 1.

The Tigers have won five consecutive matchups against the Vols...will things go differently this year? Our experts weighed in. Take a look.

Adam Sparks, Tennessee football beat reporter

Tennessee 35, LSU 27: If Tennessee's offense can strike early and shake off any rust from the off week, it might be difficult for LSU to keep pace. There's certainly a path for the Tigers to win this one. They must get ahead early and rely on a sellout crowd to rattle the Vols. And Jayden Daniels must utilize his talented wide receivers and exploit UT's struggling pass defense. But the Vols might have too much offense to LSU.

Mike Wilson, Tennessee reporter

Tennessee 33, LSU 31: Tennessee's offense can get it done in this one. But can its defense play better than it did against Florida? Containing Daniels is the key to doing that.

Koki Riley, LSU beat reporter

Tennessee 34, LSU 28: Tennessee has more paths to victory, in large part because of an unstoppable offense. Hooker has thrown just two interceptions since taking over as the starter last season. And although LSU has the personnel to potentially exploit the Vols' weaknesses, it will need to be drastically better than last week in those phases of the game, which is a lot to ask.

John Adams, senior sports columnist

Tennessee 34, LSU 27: The Vols seemingly got a break when this game was scheduled for 11 a.m. CST. However, LSU has played well recently in early games.

But LSU didn't play well last week in a 21-17 come-from-behind victory against Auburn. And that could prove more significant than the starting time.

A defense that gives up big pass plays to Auburn is apt to give up bigger plays to Tennessee.

Blake Toppmeyer, SEC columnist

Tennessee 31, LSU 27: The Tigers have improved since a season-opening loss to Florida State, particularly on defense. Their pass rush is especially effective. But the Tigers haven’t faced a quarterback as good as Tennessee’s Hendon Hooker, who gets the ball out quickly and makes smart decisions. LSU’s Jayden Daniels should enjoy playing against Tennessee’s porous defense, but I trust Hooker and the Vols’ offense enough that I’m predicting a road win.
