Tennessee football vs. Vanderbilt: Our final score predictions are in

Tennessee football is going on the road to face Vanderbilt in its last game of the regular season.

Despite losing their chances at making the College Football Playoff with the loss to South Carolina, the Vols are looking to win in Nashville to make a high-level bowl game. Tennessee is finishing at second in the SEC East behind undefeated Georgia, who is leading the rankings for the CFP.

The Commodores, on the other hand, will look to upset the Vols and to earn bowl eligibility. Vanderbilt defeated consecutive SEC opponents for the first time since 2018 with the win over Florida. With Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker out with an ACL tear, Vanderbilt may execute the upset win.

How will the Vols finish out the regular season? Here's what our experts had to say.

Adam Sparks, Tennessee football beat reporter

Tennessee 38, Vanderbilt 24: It’s hard to say whether the Vols will be dialed in because a lot was lost at South Carolina – a possible CFP bid, a Heisman shot, the national spotlight. Tennessee can’t sleepwalk in this one or Vanderbilt will pounce. Expect Joe Milton to put up good numbers that’ll reinvigorate Tennessee fans about the future. It won’t be easy, but the Vols will get their 10th win and hope for a New Year’s Six bowl.

Aria Gerson, Vanderbilt beat reporter

Tennessee 38, Vanderbilt 24: The loss of Hooker makes this one a lot closer than it otherwise could have been, but even with a backup quarterback, Vanderbilt doesn't match up well with the Vols.

Gentry Estes, sports columnist

Tennessee 38, Vanderbilt 27: The fact that I’m not sure about this pick might be my biggest personal surprise all season. But I’m not sure. I don’t know what to expect from the Vols without Hendon Hooker. I think they’ll have enough, but the Commodores are playing well and have a legit chance at home.

John Adams, senior sports columnist

Tennessee 45, Vanderbilt 28: Here comes Milton Mania. Joe Milton will begin his march to being TenBlnessee’s starting quarterback next season by picking apart Vanderbilt. The SEC’s two worst passing defenses will do battle. Fortunately for the Vols, Vanderbilt also is armed with one of the SEC’s worst passing offenses.
