Tennessee high school football scores, TSSAA live updates for Week 5 in Nashville area
It's Battle of the Woods night.
Brentwood travels to Ravenwood for their annual rivalry game. It marks the top Nashville area high school football game in Week 5 of the Tennessee high school football season.
This marks the second big week of region games. Both Brentwood (3-1) and Ravenwood (2-2) are 1-0 in Region 7-6A along with Independence.
Mississippi State quarterback commitment Chris Parson leads Ravenwood's offense. Parson has thrown for 696 yards, ran for 361 yards and has three passing and five rushing touchdowns. He faces a Brentwood defense that is giving up just nine points a game.
While the Battle of the Woods highlights the week, there are other prime meetings.
That includes Baylor at Pope John Paul II, White County at Mt. Juliet and Riverdale at Rockvale.
Follow our live updates throughout the night.

9:20 p.m.: It's getting late in the midstate
White County's defense gets a big stop, down 35-28 in the fourth quarter to Mt. Juliet. Can Malaki Dowell help the Warriors tie it up?
Fumble and @Warriors_Sparta recovers it!

White County's Malaki Dowell is really, really good
The Tennessean's Tom Kreager called White County's Malaki Dowell the best running back in the state you've never heard of last week. That's going to change.
Dowell's second TD of the game, a 21-yard run, cuts Mt. Juliet's lead in half.
That is a grown man run by @dowell_malaki. He scores from 21 yards out and just like that, we’ve got a one possession game 👀@MJGOLDENBEARFB 28@Warriors_Sparta 21

Pregame: It's already Week 5?!
It doesn't feel like we should be in midseason, but that's the case for the TSSAA high school football season. Despite next week's forecast of 90 degree days, it should be a cool Friday night by the fourth quarter across the midstate.
We have our usual crew covering games this Friday, including:
Tom Kreager at Ravenwood-Brentwood
Joe Spears at Mt. Juliet-White County
George Robinson at Baylor-Pope John Paul II
The Daily News Journal's Cecil Joyce at Riverdale-Rockvale
