10 p.m.: Pearl-Cohn advances to Class 4A state title game

In a game with 100 points, Pearl-Cohn got the final defensive stop on downs in the final minute to win 53-47 at Haywood.

9:35 p.m.: Page is in the Class 5A state title game

In close postseason games, mistakes can mean a lot. Taking advantage of your opponents' mistakes matter a lot, too.

West 21, Powell 21 late in the fourth quarter. Buckle up.

Let's look at some scores of games that are already underway.

  • West has a 7-6 lead at Powell with a Devin Jamison TD run with the PAT good.

  • Tyner leads York Institute 27-0 early in the second quarter. The Rams look to be on track for the Class 2A state title game against either Riverside or Huntingdon.

  • Red Bank 13, Anderson County 0, early second quarter.

6:15 p.m.: Powell on the board first vs. West

Powell comes out firing, and an Ayden Greene TD puts the Panthers ahead early in the Class 5A semifinal.

It's a fun dynamic tonight between the presumed best team in Class 5A (if our rankings are to be believed) and last year's Class 5A state champions.

5:30 p.m.: Who's going to Chattanooga?

We are taking the live blogging statewide with 12 semifinal games to monitor tonight. We'll be ready to go at 7 p.m. Eastern for games in the eastern part of the state, with games elsewhere beginning an hour later.

What will we be watching early on Friday night?

  • Class 2A: York Institute (9-4) at Tyner Academy (12-1)

  • Class 4A: Anderson Co. (13-0) at Red Bank (11-2)

  • Class 5A: Knoxville West (13-0) at Powell (11-2)

Anderson County and West have been rarely tested this season but face road tests if they want to get to next weekend. Will either be on upset alert?

It should be a fun and emotional night.
