Tennessee high school football scores, TSSAA live updates for Week 10 in Nashville area

It's Week 10 of the Tennessee high school football season. We have just two more weeks of games before the TSSAA playoff brackets will be announced.

There are still plenty of playoff spots left to be determined this week and next.

9:50 p.m.: Kaleb Beasley commits to Vols after Lipscomb Academy's win over CPA

4-star cornerback Kaleb Beasley, who helped Lipscomb Academy shut down CPA in the second half en route to a 43-21 win, committed to Tennessee football after the game.

Beasley visited Knoxville last weekend for the win over Alabama. Beasley, a Class of 2024 recruit, is the Vols' fourth commitment in the class.

9:10 p.m.: Junior Sherrill caps off Lipscomb Academy's third-quarter dominance

Lipscomb Academy is in control, with Junior Sherrill's 58-yard touchdown catch and run through the middle of CPA's defense. Lipscomb Academy 29, CPA 21.

And at the start of the fourth quarter, Kaleb Beasley made an interception, then fumbled. Edwin Spillman recovered for LA, who retained the ball. Beasley, by the way, will be committing after the game tonight. Stay tuned.

8:55 p.m.: Lipscomb Academy in front for the first time tonight, while MBA-Baylor is tied

Lipscomb Academy begins the second half with a field goal, a defensive stop and a touchdown catch by Nate Spillman. Two-point attempt no good, but LA leads 22-21 midway through the third quarter.

MBA is tied at 21 with Baylor nearing halftime. Marcel Reed is proving difficult to defend for Baylor, much like the first eight opponents on the Big Red's schedule.

8:30 p.m.: Marcel Reed's deep pass TD keeps MBA within reach

MBA's Marcel Reed has his second TD of the first half, a 72-yard toss to Claiborne Richards to cut Baylor's lead to 21-13.

In East Tennessee, Maryville has lost again, losing 31-18 to Knoxville West. It's the third loss of the year for the Rebels.

Who is the 6A biggest rival to Oakland this year? And will anyone compete with West in Class 5A? The Rebels have won against Alcoa and Maryville this year.

8:15 p.m.: Lipscomb Academy down at CPA at the half

Lipscomb Academy moves into the red zone but does not score as time expires in the first half. CPA 21, Lipscomb Academy 13 at halftime. London Humphreys has two kickoff return touchdowns in the first half for the Lions.

Tom Kreager has Baylor's Caleb Hampton and MBA's Marcel Reed on his Mr. Football ballot through nine weeks.

The two are playing on Friday, with Reed getting MBA on the board with a touchdown run.

7:30 p.m.: CPA up 14-0 in first quarter filled with fumbles

CPA leads 14-0 on a Crews Law touchdown run, turning a Lipscomb Academy fumble into points.

The two teams traded fumbles after a Lipscomb Academy turnover on downs. Lipscomb Academy is facing its toughest challenge yet this year, and it is proving to be a difficult one.

7:05 p.m.: CPA returns opening kickoff for TD!

London Humphreys didn't wait to make an impact on CPA-Lipscomb Academy, returning the opening kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown.

What a start for CPA.

It's the next-to-last Friday night of the Tennessee high school football regular season.

Joe Spears is at Lipscomb Academy-CPA, while Tom Kreager is at Baylor-MBA. The two games will impact the playoff seeding order in Division II-AA and Division II-AAA. We'll have scores, videos and updates from those games along with the other vital games around the Nashville area.
