Tennessee Lady Vols basketball score vs. Colorado: Live updates

Lady Vols basketball is back in Knoxville after a weekend trip to the Bahamas.

No. 24 Tennessee (2-4) is looking for a bounce-back win against Colorado (4-1) on Friday (7 p.m. ET, SEC Network) at Thompson-Boling Arena. The Lady Vols went 1-2 at the Battle 4 Atlantis with both losses to unranked teams – including eventual champion UCLA, which is now ranked No. 21.

The Buffs haven't played a tough schedule, but that doesn't mean the matchup will be easy for the Lady Vols, who have struggled to put the pieces together early in the season.

THE IMPACT TRANSFER:Why Rickea Jackson lost love for the game and found it with Tennessee Lady Vols basketball

Colorado lost three starters from last season, including leading scorer Mya Hollingshed, who got drafted by the Las Vegas Aces in April. But the Buffs return three of their top five scorers, including senior Quay Miller, who leads the team this season with 17.2 points and 10.4 rebounds per game.

Returning starters Frida Formann and Jaylyn Sherrod are both averaging just over 11 points per game. Colorado has shown it can be a threat from behind the arc – it made 10 threes against Jackson State and 11 against Louisiana.

The Buffs are a high-turnover team so far this season, averaging 17.2 per game. But they also force 17.8 per game – and an average of 11 of them are steals.

The Lady Vols need a win Friday, or this season could quickly turn into a nightmare that inches closer to missing the big dance for the first time in program history. They'll look to a senior trio to lead them: Jasmine Powell, Jordan Horston and Rickea Jackson, who leads the team with 17.7 points per game.
