Tennessee man caused $30K in damages at cemetery attempting to ‘resurrect’ grandmother: cops
The Halloween season started earlier than usual for a Tennessee man who has been charged with vandalism and criminal trespassing after he caused significant property damage at a cemetery while trying to “resurrect” his grandmother.
Knoxville Police officers were called to a church cemetery on Monday afternoon after vandalism was reported, according to WVLT.
The officers found several dug up spots and broken headstones at the scene. A witness told the officers that a homeless man who stays nearby was seen causing the damage.
Officers later identified the man as Danny Frazier, 34, and located him. Frazier admitted to officers that he caused some of the damage while trying to “resurrect” his grandmother who is buried at the cemetery.
Officials estimated it would cost about $30,000 to repair the damages.
Frazier was charged with multiple felonies and is being held on a $20,000 bond, according to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office inmate records.
