Tennessee National Guard Conduct Water Drops Over Wildfires

The Hatcher Mountain-Indigo Lane wildfire burning near Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, grew to 3,739 acres and was at 45 percent containment as of Friday, April 1, the Sevier County government said.

Aerial footage released by the Tennessee National Guard on Thursday shows water drops over the fires across eastern Tennessee. Six Blackhawk helicopters with “Bambi Buckets” were deployed for firefighting efforts.

Evacuations remained in place for Hatcher Mountain Road, Cove Creek Road, Indigo Road, and Shagbark resort, while several roads remained closed, according to the Sevier County government. Credit: Tennessee National Guard via Storyful
