Tennessee Titans coach Mike Vrabel saw the good and bad in quarterback Ryan Tannehill's performance Sunday.

In his first game back from an ankle injury that sidelined him for two weeks, Tannehill threw for 255 yards and two touchdowns in a 17-10 win over the Denver Broncos. His 36 pass attempts were his most this season, but his 52.8% completion percentage was his worst this season.

"I thought he was probably average," Vrabel said Monday. "I think just getting back in there, I thought he made some good throws and I thought there were certain decisions that he probably could’ve made that were better. Everybody’s got to be on the same page."

Vrabel singled out the flea-flicker touchdown connection from Tannehill to Nick Westbrook-Ikhine as an example of one of the plays where everybody did their job correctly. He also appreciated Tannehill's blitz recognition against Cover Zero to check to the play that led to Westbrook-Ikhine's first touchdown in the second quarter.

Still, the Titans end Week 10 ranked last in the NFL in yards per game, sixth-worst in yards per play, second-worst in pass yards per game, fifth-worst in third-down conversion rate and eighth-worst in points per game.

When asked if he thinks offensive coordinator Todd Downing's play-calling could improve or if changes to play-calling or personnel packages could help fix some of these bottom-of-the-league stats, Vrabel leaned toward thinking those aren't the problems.

"I think as long as the play calls are given to the signal caller in a timely fashion and that we have time to get out there, whether it’s offensively or defensively, to make a call, I think players are more important than players and I think teammates are more important than players," Vrabel said. "Hopefully we’re getting these guys the call and they understand the details, but there’s no magic call."
