The pros, cons of a Derrick Henry extension for Tennessee Titans

Tennessee Titans star running back Derrick Henry will have "no limitations" in his highly-anticipated return, according to a report Saturday from ESPN.

Henry, who missed the last nine games on injured reserve, was activated Friday, clearing him to play Saturday (3:30 p.m. CT, CBS) for the Titans (12-5) against the Cincinnati Bengals (11-7) in the AFC divisional-round game at Nissan Stadium.

"I was told Derrick Henry will not be on a snap count, he will have no limitations, and the coaching staff will keep a close eye on him to watch his conditioning and comfort," ESPN's Dianna Russini tweeted.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport also said Saturday that the All-Pro running back will play with a metal plate in his shoe, on top of the steel plate that's already in his surgically-repaired foot.

The shoe plate is for added protection so that Henry's foot will be stopped from flexing, keeping pressure off when he runs and cuts so he can do so "without any reservations," according to the report.

Despite missing the last half of the season, Henry ranked seventh in rushing touchdowns (10) and ninth in rushing yards (937).
