Tennessee Titans expected to place WR Racey McMath on injured reserve with hip injury | Report

The Tennessee Titans are expected to place second-year receiver Racey McMath on injured reserve with a hip injury, according to a report Tuesday from Titaninsider.com.

The move would mean McMath, who was kept on the initial 53-man roster, will have to miss at least the first four games of the regular season.

The designation would make wideout the Titans' most pressing need. Outside of McMath, Tennessee kept just four receivers on its initial 53-man roster: Robert Woods, Treylon Burks, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Kyle Philips.

The team cut four receivers during final rosters cut Tuesday – Dez Fitzpatrick, Cody Hollister, Reggie Roberson Jr. and Mason Kinsey – so one of them could be brought back to the 53. There will also be options on the waiver wire.

A 2021 sixth-round pick out of LSU, McMath played a key role on special teams last year but flashed potential as a deep threat in training camp and the preseason this year. He had two receptions for 8 yards in nine games as a rookie.
