Tennessee Titans interviewing several GM candidates, including interim Ryan Cowden | Report

The Tennessee Titans are reportedly beginning interviews for their general manager opening.

The Titans have requested permission to interview 49ers assistant GM Adam Peters and director of player personnel Ran Carthon, Bears assistant GM Ian Cunningham and Browns assistant GM Glenn Cook, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Monday. The Titans also will interview their interim GM Ryan Cowden and director of player personnel Monti Ossenfort, according to the NFL Network report.

Peters made it to the second round of GM interviews with the Giants last offseason before the job ultimately went to Joe Schoen. Peters, who also interviewed for the Panthers open GM position in 2021, has been in the 49ers' front office for six seasons.

Carthon, a former NFL running back, has also been in the 49ers front office for six seasons and in his current role for two seasons. He interviewed with the Giants, Bears and Steelers for their respective GM openings last offseason.

Cunningham is finishing his first season as Bears assistant GM after two seasons overseeing the Eagles' college scouting department as director of player personnel. He interviewed for the Panthers GM opening in 2021.

Cook interviewed with the Vikings and Browns last season for their GM openings and was elevated to assistant GM after being the team's vice president for player personnel. He filled the role of Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, who is now the Vikings GM.

Cowden is the interim GM and executive vice president of player personnel, holding the latter title since 2018. He has interviewed with several teams for GM openings over the past several seasons, including the Steelers, Commanders and Giants. The Steelers reportedly interviewed him twice for their opening last summer.

Ossenfort spent 14 seasons as a scout and executive with the Patriots before joining the Titans three seasons ago. Ossenfort's first three years in New England as a scout coincided with the final three years of Titans coach Mike Vrabel's stint with the Patriots.

Tennessee fired GM Jon Robinson on Dec. 6 in the middle of a seven-game losing streak that pushed the team out of the playoffs.
