Tennessee Titans Malik Willis' highlight-filled 1st half includes ridiculous side-arm throw

Rookie quarterback Malik Willis is adding to a lengthy highlight reel in the first half of the Tennessee Titans' preseason opener on Thursday at the Baltimore Ravens.

Willis' touchdown run, where he spun around and changed directions before making Ravens defenders miss, in the second quarter was only the beginning. On the Titans' next offensive drive, Willis completed a 48-yard pass to Racey McMath on a vertical route, then completed a side-arm pass around a Ravens defender to Tommy Hudson for a first down in Ravens territory.

The drive ended in a Randy Bullock 33-yard field goal.

Willis, selected at No. 86 overall in the third round of April's draft, is battling Logan Woodside for the No. 2 quarterback job behind starter Ryan Tannehill. The Liberty alum started Thursday's preseason opener, while Woodside is scheduled to play the second half according to the team's game broadcast.

In seven first-half possessions and the first two plays of the second half, Willis completed 6-of-11 passes for 107 yards and ran for 38 yards on five carries. Tennessee scored twice, punted four times and lost a fumble while Willis was in the game.

Those statistics won't be on the mind of Titans fans, though, at the conclusion of Willis' preseason debut.
