How Tennessee Titans, NFL fans reacted to Jon Robinson firing after loss to A.J. Brown
The Tennessee Titans announced the firing of general manager Jon Robinson on Tuesday, leading fans to react on Twitter about his almost seven-year tenure.
The decision comes on the heels of a 35-10 loss to the Eagles and former Titans receiver A.J. Brown, who Robinson traded on draft night last offseason.
Under Robinson, the Titans (7-5) made the postseason four times and enter Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars (4-8) with a three-game lead in the AFC South.
But that didn't stop the Titans from axing the man who hired Mike Vrabel in 2018 and oversaw the franchise's run to the AFC Championship game during the 2019 season.

The reason why? A slew of personnel moves, including the Brown trade, and draft busts that began to deplete a roster and soured an otherwise successful tenure.

When the smoke clears, Jon Robinson deserves a ton of credit for turning the Titans franchise around

If it wasn’t for the moves Jon Robinson made, we would have a well rounded Super Bowl bound team. That’s why he’s gone. He clearly doesn’t know how to make moves or draft first round picks 💯

What local, national media said about the decision:
Jon Robinson has played a significant part in what has been one of the most consistent teams in the NFL over the past handful of seasons.
Firing him is a surprise, doing so in Week 14 with Tennessee on the doorstep of another division title is downright shocking. https://t.co/hacCHoxd3A— Field Yates (@FieldYates) December 6, 2022
Titans' draft picks haven't been great and free agency has been a dud.
A new GM will need to find long-term QB, fix the OL and get some weapons on offense.
No small order. https://t.co/3a6nhxDurB— Matt Miller (@nfldraftscout) December 6, 2022
My understanding is #Titans brass wasn't happy with the direction of the roster assembled by Jon Robinson and decided to make a change, despite leading the AFC South. He was under contract through the 2027 draft, and walks away with another four years' pay.

Former #Titans GM Jon Robinson had some misses in the first round including Caleb Farley, Isaiah Wilson. But he had some pretty good mid-late round picks in Kevin Byard, Derrick Henry. But another problem is none of the first-round picks made it to a 2nd contract.

firing GM the Tuesday after Week 13 seems very reactionary to AJ Brown dunking on them with 8 catches for 119 and 2 TDs just 48 hours ago
if AJ Brown twists his ankle on his first route & sits the rest of the game, do the Titans still fire Jon Robinson today? https://t.co/qBTSeqcbAt— Warren Sharp (@SharpFootball) December 6, 2022
The #Titans firing Jon Robinson makes no sense. I mean, they seem to continually have a built in early January ceiling, and are what they are, but why fire him now?
