Tennessee Titans place nickelback Elijah Molden, rookie linebacker Chance Campbell on IR

The Tennessee Titans placed second-year nickelback Elijah Molden and rookie linebacker Chance Campbell on injured reserve, the team announced Friday.

Coach Mike Vrabel had ruled the two out for Sunday's season opener against the New York Giants (3:25 p.m., Fox) earlier Friday. They'll now have to miss at least the first four games of the regular season.

The Titans did not immediately announce replacements on the active roster.

Molden missed most of training camp and preseason because of injury. He appeared in 16 games as a rookie last season, including seven starts.

The loss of Campbell, a sixth-round pick out of Ole Miss, further diminishes the Titans' inside linebacker depth. Monty Rice (Reserve/PUP) was already out. After starters David Long Jr. and Zach Cunningham, Dylan Cole is the only other inside linebacker on the 53-man roster. Veteran Joe Joes is also an option on the practice squad.

Molden and Campbell join outside linebacker Harold Landry, receiver Racey McMath and tight end Tommy Hudson on injured reserve. Landry is expected to miss the season beca torn ACL.
