Tennessee Titans QB Ryan Tannehill returns to LA Chargers game after ankle injury

Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill returned to the game against the Los Angeles Chargers in the second quarter being carted off the field after the Titans' first drive on Sunday.

Tannehill returned with under 12 minutes left in the second quarter after injuring his ankle on the third play of the game.

Tannehill stayed on the ground in pain after being tackled by Khalil Mack on a third-down scramble. Tannehill's right ankle was caught under Mack as the edge rusher forced him to the ground.

The Titans QB slowly walked to the sideline after several moments, then stepped into the sideline injury tent. A cart took Tannehill to the locker room minutes later, with the shoe and sock off of his right foot.

Tannehill missed two games earlier this year, at Houston and Kansas City, with an ankle injury suffered in an October win over Indianapolis. Malik Willis, the third-round pick in April's draft, made starts at quarterback in the game.
