Tennessee Titans sign former Tampa Bay Buccaneers CB Sean Murphy-Bunting as NFL free agent

The Tennessee Titans are adding a Super Bowl champion to their secondary.

Sean Murphy-Bunting, a former second-round pick of the Tamp Bay Buccaneers who played a huge role in their path to winning Super Bowl LV, signed a free agent contract with the Titans Monday, bolstering a young Titans cornerback room that allowed the most passing yards in the NFL last season.

Murphy-Bunting started 36 games and played in 53 in his four seasons with the Bucs. He's intercepted six passes, including two last season, with 21 pass breakups over his career. He was dominant during the 2020-21 postseason, intercepting three passes in three games to help Tampa Bay earn its way into the Super Bowl.

A 2019 second-round pick out of Central Michigan, Murphy-Bunting measures at 6-foot and 195 pounds. He only started five games and played in just 12 in 2022 after dislocating his elbow in Week 1 and missing time. He played his best football at the end of the season, breaking up six passes and intercepting one in the final four games of the season, adding 14 tackles and a forced fumble.

Murphy-Bunting adds to the Titans' 2023 free agent haul which also includes offensive tackle Andre Dillard, defensive end Arden Key, offensive guard Daniel Brunskill and linebackers Azeez Al-Shaair and Luke Gifford.
