The Tennessee Titans will look to avoid an 0-3 hole when they host the Las Vegas Raiders (0-2) on Sunday at Nissan Stadium (noon, FOX).

Tennessean sports writer Ben Arthur breaks down the game and offers his prediction:

Titans’ offense vs. Raiders’ defense

The offense hasn’t provided much reason for optimism through two games, but facing the Raiders could be a confidence-builder.

Las Vegas ranks 16th in run defense, allowing 109.5 rushing yards per game. So it could be an opportunity for the Titans to finally get Derrick Henry going. The star running back has 34 carries for just 107 yards and a touchdown through two games.

The Raiders also rank fifth-worst in pass defense (274.5 passing yards allowed/game). Maybe rookie receiver Treylon Burks continues his positive momentum in this matchup. The first-round pick has seven receptions for 102 yards entering Week 3.

A big surprise is that the Raiders, with a pass-rushing tandem of Maxx Crosby and Chandler Jones, have just one sack through two games. But the Titans could be vulnerable up front, especially with left tackle Taylor Lewan (knee) reportedly out for the season.

Titans’ defense vs. Raiders’ offense

This could be another rough performance for Tennessee’s defense. It’s been unable to stop the top playmakers on the opposing team through two games (the Giants’ Saquon Barkley in Week 1; the Bills’ Stefon Diggs on Monday), and the Raiders have three on the outside who will be a handful: receivers Davante Adams (a bona fide superstar) and Hunter Renfrow, and star tight end Darren Waller. Josh Jacobs is also one of the better running backs in the NFL.

Score prediction

In a battle of teams desperate for their first win, the Titans are able to lean on Henry – and their home crowd – for their first win of the season.

Titans 28, Raiders 24.
