Tennessee Voices, Episode 274: Patricia P. Asp, principal and founder, Aspire

Patricia P. Asp knows how it feels to be the only female executive in the C-level suite.

However, she also recognizes that she benefited from male sponsors and mentors who helped her achieve her professional goals and ambitions.

For 25 years, she worked in Fortune 500 companies, and she now is principal and founder of Aspire, a consulting firm that focuses on "preserving the goodness of companies and organizations." Aspire helps business leaders sustain what makes their companies special.

On this episode of the Tennessee Voices video podcast, Asp shared stories about growing up on a dairy farm where her family invited people of all economic circumstances to the dinner table.

She told me that the experience helped her gain empathy, which is essential in the business world for customer satisfaction, be it in health care or retail.

Asp also talked about companies needing to be true to their vision, mission and values by demonstrating behaviors that reinforce who they really are.

This is imperative for companies to build a sustainable culture especially during the disruption of COVID, the Great Resignation and efforts to return to some semblance of normalcy.
