Tennessee Voices, Episode 367: Paul Lawson and Herbert Brown, Turner Construction
The key to continued growth and economic development in Middle Tennessee is to invest in a skilled workforce.
One of these areas is construction. As the Nashville area booms and commercial and residential projects multiply, this has never been more important, according to Paul Lawson and Herbert Brown of Turner Construction.
Lawson is vice president and general manager and Brown is community and citizenship director for Turner.
On this episode of the Tennessee Voices video podcast, they shared their insights into the economy and their sector.
They also spoke about how they are helping train the construction workforce of the future and investing in businesses and nonprofits across town.
One of those organizations is PENCIL, which held its annual fundraiser on Aug. 24. PENCIL connects businesses with Metro Nashville Public Schools on volunteerism, supporting classroom needs and providing post-graduation opportunities for students.
Turner is part of the newly formed Tennessee Builders Alliance, which will be building a new stadium for the Tennessee Titans.
