Tennis pro gives youth clinic at Hampden Park

More than 30 kids attended the clinic, including high school players from Berks Catholic, Conrad Weiser and Reading High.

Harrison, 30, has been ranked as high as 40th by the ATP in singles and 16th in doubles. He has won one ATP singles title (2017 in Memphis) and four doubles titles, including the French Open in 2017. He currently is ranked 535th in singles.

He is one of six players who will take part in the Ellesse Pro Tennis Challenge, which starts Friday at 8:30 a.m. with round-robin matches at the Emkey Tennis Garden in Wyomissing. The other players scheduled to participate are Hugo Gaston, ranked 68th in the world; Sumit Nagal, ranked 458th; Jonas Forejtek, ranked 222nd; Nicholas Bybel of Lancaster, ranked 681st; and Michael Zheng, who was the Wimbledon Boys 18s singles runner-up this year. The semifinals and final will be Saturday.

The event, which is presented by the Berks County Tennis Association, benefits scholarships for the City of Reading (COR Tennis) program through the Reading Recreation Commission.
