Testing Event Cancelled In Loudoun County on Friday, Jan. 21

LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — The free COVID-19 testing event scheduled for Loudoun County on Friday has been cancelled. Officials cited expected inclement weather due to an arctic cold front entering the region.

The testing events, which have constantly reached capacity, have been held at the Philip A. Bolen Memorial Park in Leesburg. The next testing event is scheduled to be held on Tuesday at a site that has yet to be determined.

The National Weather warned about Friday's weather, citing "dangerously low wind chills that may lead to frostbite or hypothermia when outside for extended periods of time."

In their communication announcing Friday's cancellation, the health department told residents that they can seek out tests at community sites in Fairfax and Woodbridge. More information about the Woodbridge community testing site and the Fairfax community testing site is available online.

Loudoun residents, along with people across the country, are now eligible to receive four free at-home COVID-19 tests from the federal government. The tests are scheduled to start shipping later this month.
