In the 2020-21 season, Texas advanced as Big 12 champs to the NCAA Tournament but lost to Abilene Christian 53-52 in a first-round upset.
Guided by first-year head coach Chris Beard, the Longhorns finished the 2021-22 season with an overall record of 21-10, including 10-8 in conference play.
Notable Texas basketball wins during the 2021-22 regular season came against nationally-ranked foes Tennessee, Iowa State and Kansas, with the Big Monday win against the Jayhawks occurring at the Erwin Center in Austin.
In the 2022 Big 12 Tournament, Texas lost in their first game to TCU 65-60.
