Texas Governor Greg Abbott makes an appearance at World Series game 2 at Globe Life Field

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott made an appearance ahead of Game 2 of the World Series at Globe Life Field in Arlington on Saturday.

Abbott was on hand to support the hometown Texas Rangers as they face off against the National League Champion Arizona Diamondbacks in the best of seven series.

The Rangers lead thee best-of-seven series 1-0 after Friday night’s extra innings victory.

He also delivered the first pitch ball to legendary Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre who threw out the ceremonial first pitch to Rangers Hall of Famer Fergie Jenkins.

Abbott received a mostly positive reception, although some fans could be heard booing the governor during his appearance.

He attended the Rangers home opener on March 30 as part of a celebration honoring the 200th anniversary of the Texas Rangers division of the Texas Department of Public Safety.
