Texas Health and Human Services to host hiring event

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission is hosting a hiring event Thursday, July 21 and Friday, July 22. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days, and aims to showcase the positions available at HHSC and give job-seekers the opportunity to explore their options and learn more about what the organization does. It will take place at the HHSC office, located at 1328 Oakhurst Drive in Wichita Falls.

The hiring event focuses on the HHSC Office of Access and Eligibility services, which primarily works toward connecting assistance programs to eligible beneficiaries. This includes the Supplemental Assistance Nutrition Program and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program, as well as other areas like food, healthcare and cash assistance programs. Interviews for positions will be conducted on site at the event.

Wayne Salter, HHS deputy executive commissioner of Access and Eligibility Services, said the hiring event gives job-seekers a chance to help people in their community.

“These positions give compassionate people a chance to help their fellow Texans in need. We’re looking for highly-motivated and dedicated people to join our team in this rewarding career,” Salter said.

More information about the HHSC is available on its website, hhs.texas.gov.
