The University of Texas announced on Wednesday that kicker Cameron Dicker will forego his additional year of edibility and enter the 2022 NFL draft.

Throughout his collegiate career at Texas, Dicker appeared in 49 games and scored 386 points, the most points ever by a kicker and the third-most among any position in program history.

He leaves Austin as the program’s career leader in field goals made (60), tied for first in career attempts (79), second all-time in extra points made (206), and fourth in career field goal accuracy at 75.9 percent.

His most memorable moment came during the Red River Rivalry in 2018. With nine seconds left in the game, the freshman nailed a 40-yard game-winning field goal to defeat No. 7 Oklahoma 48-45.

Dicker also served as Texas’ punter for the 2021 season, where he earned All-Big 12 first-team honors and was named a semifinalist for the Ray Guy Award.

The Longhorns will now look to Flower Mound native Bert Auburn as the starting kicker for next season. As a true freshman in 2021, Auburn appeared in one game (Rice) and made 3-of-3 extra point attempts.
