As Texas lifts its mask mandate, residents of Houston, the state's largest city, are divided over the decision. "I think it's good for everyone to be able to make their own choice," says one resident, but for another, it's a "political ploy".
- I think it was a political decision. I think because the governor really messed up when it came to the energy, so it was a political ploy. So he's a very right wing Republican, a lot of Republicans here in Texas don't believe in masks, don't believe in the science behind masks. So he purely, in my opinion, did it just to gain some support. And it worked. But I don't think he had the health of the people in mind.
- I think it's good. I think it's good for everyone to be able to make their own choice and what they choose for their body. I just think that's the best choice for everybody.
