Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi to host free science series at Hopkins Public Library
Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is hosting weekly science presentations this summer at Hopkins Public Library for teens and adults.
The first presentation of the eight-week "All Together Now: Life in Bays and Estuaries" was held Monday evening, focused on hypoxia in fish. More presentations on environmental and marine science research by university faculty and students are planned for every Monday evening through Aug. 28.
The presentations are scheduled for 5:30-7 p.m. at Hopkins Public Library at 3202 McKinzie Road in the Tuloso-Midway area.

Aug. 7 — "Salty dolphins — salinity stress responses in local dolphin populations" presented by Makayla Guinn of the Orbach Lab
Aug. 14 — "Sharks in our bays" presented by the Portnoy Lab
Aug. 21 — "Coral reefs: Colorful rocks may become slimy rocks" presented by David Armstrong of the Bahr Lab
Aug. 28 — book discussion on "The Uninhabitable Earth" presented by Kelly Bezio
