BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Texas man has been sentenced for raping his girlfriend’s daughter in Orchard Park in 2020, the Erie County District Attorney’s office said Tuesday.

James Carollo, 28, was sentenced to 12 years in prison plus 20 years of post-release supervision.

Carollo raped the teen, who was 13 years old at the time, twice on or around July 7, 2020 and Sep. 10, 2020. Carollo was the teen’s mother’s live-in boyfriend at the time in Orchard Park, according to police.

Carollo, of Crosby, Texas, was arrested in Houston in July 2023. He pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree rape in December.

As part of his sentence, Carollo will be required to register as a sex offender upon his release.
