Texas’ most wanted sex offender captured in El Paso

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 46-year-old man who was listed as a “Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender” by the Texas Department of Public Safety was captured Friday, Feb. 2 in El Paso.

DPS says Kenneth Wayne Dove, 46, has been wanted since November 2022 after the El Paso Police Department issued multiple warrants for his arrest for failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements.

Since January 2023, additional warrants for Dove’s arrest for failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements and evading arrest/detention were issued out of El Paso County, according to DPS.

DPS says the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, including DPS special agents, located and arrested Dove on Friday, Feb. 2, in El Paso.

DPS says Dove was convicted in 2009 of three counts of delivery of marijuana and was sentenced to six months confinement for each offense which was served concurrently.

DPS says Dove was then convicted in 2016 on two counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact after “two incidents with a 5-year-old boy.”

Dove was sentenced to five years confinement in prison for each offense which were served concurrently.

The El Paso Police Department Sex Offender Registry Team also assisted in the multi-agency fugitive investigation, according to DPS.
