How many times have you finished watching a horror movie and then told yourself you wanted to have a scary movie binge?

According to Google Trends, Texas ranks horror as the third most-searched film genre in the Lone Star State from the past year.

Below are the top 10 genres searched on Google in Texas, along with a film recommendation that is based in the state.

Sports: 'Friday Night Lights'

It's no surprise that sports is the most popular genre in Texas.

Action: 'Grindhouse'

Action movies come in second with Texas. The state was the eighth out of all 50 in the U.S. to search for action movies in the past year.

"Grindhouse" is a double-feature package with two 2007 movies — Robert Rodriguez's "Planet Terror" and Quentin Tarantino's "Death Proof."

The former is about a group of survivors battling zombie-like creatures in a small Texas town. "Death Proof" tells the story of a stuntman who murders young women in his "death-proof" vehicle in Texas and Tennessee.

Where to watch: The double feature is not available to stream or rent, but you can rent both films separately on Prime Video for $3.99 each.

Horror: 'The Texas Chain Saw Massacre'

When you think of horror and Texas, Leatherface pops right up.

The 1974 horror film spawned a franchise of nine slasher films, comic books and a video game adaptation of the original movie.

A group of friends are on their way to Sally and Franklin's grandfather's grave when they make a detour to their family's old farmhouse. They soon discover a group of murderous outcasts living next door, and the victims are murdered one by one by the chainsaw-wielding Leatherface.

Sci-fi: 'The Giant Gila Monster'

Surprisingly, there are not a lot of science-fiction films set in Texas (though "The X-Files" has nearly a dozen episodes dealing with extraterrestrials in the Lone Star State).

Comedy: 'Dazed and Confused'

Comedy was a hard genre to choose one Texas-based film from. You have "Office Space," "Bernie" and "Pee-Wee's Big Adventure." With that being said, we have one catchphrase for you: "All right, all right, all right."

The 1993 film "Dazed and Confused" depicts the last day of school in 1976 in Austin.

The film centers on star athlete Randall Floyd, who moves easily among the stoners, jocks and geeks. Randall likes smoking weed, which presents a problem when his football coach demands he sign a "no drugs" pledge.

Thriller: 'No Country for Old Men'

The sixth most-searched film genre in Texas is thriller, with the state being the 26th out of all 50.

The 2007 film is set in the desert landscape of 1980 West Texas, where hunter Llewelyn Moss stumbles across dead bodies, $2 million and a hoard of heroin.

Anton Chigurh is now on the hunt for Llewelyn while Sheriff Ed Tom Bell is hot on the hitman's trail.

Western: 'Holes'

Western films go hand in hand with the Lone Star State. But what about neo-Western, a film using Western themes in the present day?

"Holes" is a 2003 neo-western film starring Shia LaBeouf, Khleo Thomas and Sigourney Weaver.
