Texas Panhandle H.S. volleyball top performers & results, Aug. 25-28
TOP PERFORMERS
Amarillo High quartet
The Lady Sandies went 3-5 overall against a tough bracket of competition this past weekend at the Volleypalooza tournament. The outside hitting combo of Sienna Cavalier (42) and Ryan Pennington (47) combined for 89 kills, senior setter Jo Moffitt racked up 150 assists and Kaylie Ledbetter notched 80 digs over the weekend.
Camryn Blair, Emma Cooper and Nickilah Whatley, Hereford
The Lady Whitefaces went 3-1 at the Arlington Showcase behind the play of this trio. Blair totaled 55 kills while Cooper was impressive with 82 digs and Whatley controlled the net with over 40 kills and close to 20 blocks.
Meredith Sanning, Tascosa
Sanning made the All-Tournament team after the Lady Rebels finished 2-2 this last weekend. The junior setter totaled 134 assists to lead the Tascosa offense.
Olivia Hurnes and Olivia Ortiz, Caprock
Hurnes totaled 41 kills, 17 blocks and seven aces while Ortiz notched 62 digs, two kills and two aces as the duo earned All-Tournament honors.
Jayli Franklin and McCall Sims, West Plains
Franklin was superb at the net with over 35 kills and a handful of blocks. Sims was also a standout with 84 digs.
Randall Lady Raider trio
The group of Jordyn Gove (68 kills, 63 digs, six blocks, six aces), Brooke Henderson (47 digs, 29 kills, 11 aces) and Sidney Soria (160 assists, 48 digs, 19 kills) starred for the Lady Raiders.
Madyson Eberly and Kaela Neie, Bushland
The Lady Falcon duo at the net led Bushland to a Frenship tournament title with Eberly (45 kills, 12 blocks) and Neie (58 kills, three blocks) continuing to shine for the back-to-back state champions.
Karyme Castillo and Desi Gutierrez, Dumas
Castillo totaled 67 assists and Gutierrez shut down the opposing side with 15 blocks over the weekend.
Alizae Balderas, Tulia
Balderas had the Lady Hornet offense run through her as she totaled over 60 assists throughout the course of Tulia's 4-1 overall showing this past weekend.
