Texas plane crash: Aircraft owner identified as video shows shocking aftermath of Houston wreck
A plane carrying 21 passengers and crew crashed and burst into flames near Houston, Texas.
Officials say that amazingly no-one was killed in the accident in Waller County, and two people were treated in hospital.
The MD-87 aircraft, which had three crew members onboard, was taking off from Houston Executive Airport when the accident happened on Tuesday morning.
“WCOEM & WCSO are responding to a plane crash at Houston Executive Airport involving an MD-87 aircraft that was taking off from the Airport heading north.,” tweeted Waller County Office of Emergency Management.
Flames from the aircraft sent huge plumes of smoke into the air that could be seen for miles.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the plane smashed through a fence and caught fire in a field while departing Houston Executive Airport shortly after 10 am.
According to Waller County Sheriff Troy Guidry, 21 people, which included 18 passengers and three crew members, were on board and all made it out safe.
The youngest person on board is a 10-year-old, officials said.

An aircraft crashed in Waller County, Texas, on Tuesday morning, prompting firefighters to rush to the scene to quell the flames engulfing the wreck.
Thankfully, all 21 occupants onboard the plane - 18 passengers and three crew - have made it out of the wreckage safely, according to officials. Two passengers were treated at a nearby hospital.

Waller County Judge says plane never got off ground

Waller County Judge Trey Duhon took to Facebook to give more details on the accident.
“The Waller County Office of Emergency Management and WCSO are aware that there was a plane crash at Houston Executive Airport earlier this morning involving an MD-80 aircraft that was taking off from the Airport heading north,” he wrote.
“The information we have at this time indicates that the plane did not attain altitude at the end of the runway and went across Morton Road, coming to a rest in the field just north of the airport, where it caught on fire.
“ Early reports indicate that all 19 passengers and crew safely exited the aircraft and there is a report of 1 injury with a passenger reporting back pain.
“At this time, numerous first responders are on scene and the plane is on fire and burning off jet fuel. That is the extent of information we have at this time.”

The plane involved in the accident is registered to J Alan Kent, who is the corporate owner of Flair Builders, a Houston-based custom homebuilder, according to ABC13.Flair Builders confirmed to the news channel that Mr Kent was onboard with a group of people heading to Boston to watch the Houston Astros play the Boston Red Sox in the baseball playoffs.

Crash took out to power to 1,800 homes

Utility company CenterPoint Energy said that the plan crash took out an overhead power line, causing an outage to more than 1,800 customers.
Since the outage, power has been restored to all but 17 customers.
