There will continue to be continuity among the coaches on Texas' football team.

Texas is seeking approval this week from the UT system board of regents to extend the contracts for seven assistant coaches. If approved, co-defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Jeff Choate, running backs coach Tashard Choice, safeties coach Blake Gideon, secondary coach Terry Joseph, defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski and quarterbacks coach AJ Milwee will be under contract through the 2024 season.

Also, offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Kyle Flood is set to have two years added to his deal, which would put him in line to make $1,325,000 in 2024 and $1,400,000 in 2025. Regents also are being asked to approve pay bumps for Choate and Milwee. Choate, who is scheduled to make $575,000 this season, would instead earn $625,000 and then $675,000 his final year. Milwee would go from $375,000 to $425,000.

Texas also has proposed a one-year extension for strength coach Torre Becton.

Head coach Steve Sarkisian's contract runs through the 2026 season. Last May, Texas extended the contracts of Jeff Banks, the Longhorns' tight ends coach and special teams coordinator, and defensive line coach Bo Davis through 2024. The 10th assistant on Sarkisian's staff is receivers coach Chris Jackson, who was hired last month.
